Violet Estate

Violet Estate is a First Person mystery/horror game where you play as a thief trying to steal a painting from an old mansion. Armed with only a crowbar with limited durability, you will pick up notes that will guide you through the mansion and reveal the mystery piece by piece. 

The crowbar has three purposes, to break down boarded up doors, to smash windows to create alternative routes or to kill enemies. The crowbar’s durability means that players must be wary of the actions they take as too many careless actions might lock the player out of finishing the game.

The mansion consists of 7 rooms on the first floor and 6 rooms on the second floor. Rooms will be populated with any combination of consumable items, keys, notes or enemies. The player gets to the painting by finding  keys around the mansion and then using the keys to unlock one of three routes to the painting.

Keys may be found in some of the rooms. However, they might be boarded up and the player will not be able to access all the rooms in a single playthrough if the player does not have enough crowbar durability.

Enemies will be present around the map to try and stop the player, killing the enemies is discouraged and only serves to remove an obstacle and nothing else as the enemies do not drop any items.

You win the game by stealing the painting and escaping. You lose the game by dying or soft locking yourself out of the painting room.

The game is meant to be replayed more than once as the whole narrative will be hidden behind the different rooms the player might miss.
